Well where do I begin…..no longer on the road; well for now. We have a few trips that are in the making for this summer, will have to see how this winter plays out though. Back in Colorado is weird in the sense we are in a house now not our truck living in our rooftop tent which we called “our house”. Lets see..I quit my job to start working for COVID-19 pop up stations around Colorado while still working at the outdoor store in Aspen, Colorado as well. This job yes makes me at higher risk for getting the virus but we will have guaranteed work this winter, especially if the mountain gets shut down and right now who knows. I moved in with my boyfriend Shane in a house in Basalt, Colorado with 6 other people in the house, yes 6, yes its a lot, but yes we absolutely love it. We have our own room and I have a bigger kitchen to cook in; we are very excited. Yes, it was a big step for both of us making this decision but I would not change it at all. Honeypot is now back with us and loves the house, running in the snow, and sleeping even more than she did before by the fireplace. Now not having to worry where and when we will have our next shower, if our food went bad because the ice melted in the cooler, if I have enough propane for our food and preparing it to only using two burners, to actually having cell service and being around other people, all weird for us to get used to again. Being in the backcountry and the places people do not venture very often is our favorite places to go in the wilderness and take it all in. But now we love our little room in this big house. We have a new TV now mounted to our wall which is such a luxury a space for all of our clothes nicely organized. I get to wear normal clothes unless I’m snowboarding. I am excited to spend a winter here working along side with Shane at our job at the COVID-19 pop up stations as well as next to him shredding on the mountain. It will for sure be a winter I will not forget and it has just begun. Ajax and Snowmass opened on thanksgiving and although we are praying for snow we are anxious to get on the mountain. That is our life update currently, cannot wait to see what is instore for us next.
